How can I merge two players so all the analytics are compiled?

Overview

As an example, a Vidyard user has created a player with one video. They want to replace the current video with a new video, but they were not sure if Vidyard would keep all the data from the original video.

Solution

The original data for the video (i.e. Engagement Data heat-maps) will be lost from the player, although the total view count will remain. We are not able to compile the analytics.

It is recommended to export the data via Reports before you swap videos. Alternatively, if the original analytics are important to be seen in Vidyard, create a new player and re-embed that new player into your page.

If you wish for the analytics data to return, you can re-add the original video into the player. No data will ever get deleted, just unlinked.
