GoVideo users - Get started with GoVideo for Outlook

Welcome to Vidyard GoVideo Enterprise!

You now have access to the simplest way to make a personal connection with your contacts. In just a few clicks you can record a webcam or screen recording, then promptly watch and share your creation through your Outlook email client. No download, uploads, or fancy embeds required!

By the end of this article, you'll be ready to create, send, and track video emails - all with just a few clicks! 

In this article you will:

Requirements:

  • An invitation to join GoVideo Enterprise from your Vidyard admin
  • The Vidyard for Outlook feature (contact your CSM to enable this feature)
  • Vidyard for Outlook installation file (link to download in step 1 below)
  • Windows 7-10 only
  • Outlook 2013 or 2016 only
    Note: This integration is not available for Mac OS or any mobile operating systems.
    Note: This integration is not available on the web-based Office 365 version of Outlook (however, from Office 365 you may have the option to download the desktop client version of Outlook 2016).

Setup Vidyard GoVideo Enterprise

Setup Overview

There are two experiences within GoVideo Enterprise. Depending on your company settings, you could have either, both, or even none of these options. 

Find out from your admin which experience your team has selected. These are the steps for each experience:

Setup steps

1. Accept your invitation to GoVideo Enterprise

After your GoVideo Admin invites you, you will receive an email invitation asking you to confirm that you wish to join V GoVideo.

  • If you have already accepted the invitation - great! You can move on to step 2.
  • If you have not accepted, go to your GoVideo invitation email and accept the invitation.
  • If you don't have an email, ask your Vidyard admin to add you as a GoVideo user.

2. Set up your Vidyard password

  1. If you have never used GoVideo or Vidyard before, the invitation email will redirect you to create a Vidyard password. 
  2. Set your password now, this will allow you to sign into the GoVideo Outlook Add-in. 
  3. You will be redirected to the Vidyard platform. Next, within the Vidyard Platform select the Install Vidyard GoVideo. This will take you to the Chrome store where you can install the Vidyard GoVideo extension.

Note: If you have already created a Vidyard or GoVideo password in the past, you can sign in using those instead. 

3. Install and sign into the GoVideo Chrome Extension (optional based on company settings)

  1. If your team leader has indicated that your team will be using the GoVideo Chrome extension, then it's time to install it!
    Note: If your team will not be using the Chrome extension, then skip to step 4.
  2. Go to the Chrome Store Vidyard GoVideo listing
  3. Click + Add to Chrome to install the GoVideo Chrome extension.
    Note: This extension is only available in a Chrome browser.
  4. Sign into the Chrome extension using the same work email address to which you received your GoVideo Enterprise invitation.
    Important: If you are already using GoVideo with a personal account, you will need to sign out of your personal account and sign into GoVideo with your work email.
    The ViewedIt extension sign-in options include signing in with Google or with your Vidyard password.
  5. Once you've signed in, click Configure your mic and camera, then click Finish.
  6. You now have the GoVideo Chrome extension! Next, you will install the Vidyard for Outlook Add-in.

4. Install the Outlook add-in

  1. Navigate to the Vidyard for Outlook installation URL (click here). Your computer will ask you to Run or Save a setup.exe file.

  2. Right click on the .exe file and select Run as administrator (or click Save, then open the file). This will begin the Vidyard for Outlook installation.
    Note: If you experience an error during installation, you can fix it quickly by following the steps in this article
  3. You will see a window with an installation progress bar.

    Note: The file is pretty large, so it may take some time to download. The installer will work without you though, so while you're waiting maybe grab a coffee, or call your mom, or dream about all the leads you're about to engage with your slick new video emails! 
  4. Once the installation is done, that's it--you're done! Open up Outlook (close it first if it's open already), and get ready to meet your new video email tool!

5. Sign into Outlook

  1. In Outlook click New Email to compose a new message.
  2. Click the Vidyard GoVideo tab, then click the Vidyard GoVideo icon.Outoook compose window, demonstrating the Vidyard GoVideo add-in button 
  3. If you are not logged in already, log in now to the GoVideo panel that opens on the right side of your message.

Meet GoVideo Enterprise

You will use GoVideo Enterprise with this simple workflow: 

  • Create
  • Send 
  • Track

Let's try creating, sending and tracking a video now! Use the following steps to send a video to your team leader, and track if the video is watched!

There are two different places you can record a video. Depending on your company settings, you may have either, both, or even none of these options. 

Select the experience you want to learn about, then click on the article to learn how to create, send, and track video with that experience.

Note: Find out from your team lead which experience your team will be using if you are unsure which to choose.
