How to prospect your leads
Vidyard Prospector generates high-quality leads based on the search filters you select, and provides you with the details needed to help you confirm if they're appropriate for your business.
Once you've determined which leads match your needs, you can set a follow-up schedule, track your outreach, and remove any leads that are unnecessary.
How to see more information on a lead
You can select any scheduled or sent email in your Emails list to get more information about that lead. You'll receive specifics like:
- A lead's details - their name, job title, industry, role, location, email, socials, and company info (as long as they've made this information publicly available)
- The lead's activity log - when the initial outreach was generated, as well as the dates and times of any follow-ups
How to follow up with your leads
You can set Vidyard Prospector up to automatically send follow-ups on your behalf after the initial outreach email.
When follow-ups are enabled, emails for leads that haven't replied are sent after 3 days of the first email, and 4 days after the second email, following your selected cadence. These emails will not be sent on days you haven't set on your schedule, and do not count towards your limit.
- Sign in to your Prospector account
- Select My Profile > Email Preferences
- Enable Follow-up emails using the toggle provided
Show your recipients how to unsubscribe
If you'd like to let your Prospector leads know how to unsubscribe to future correspondence, you can do so from your Email Preferences.
Enter any instructions needed into the Opt-out message box. You can use the opt-out message to direct recipients to another page, or to have them reach out to you directly to be removed from your outreach list.
How to track your prospected leads
You can pass information to a sales engagement tool you choose, by enabling a default BCC email address. This email address will be added to all generated emails going forward, allowing you to track your progress with each lead.
To set up your BCC, go to My Profile > Email Preferences, and enter your preferred email address into the box.
How to delete a lead
If you no longer want to send emails to a lead, you can remove them from your lead list. Please note that if you delete a lead, they will also be removed from any future territory search results.
- Select Emails from the main menu
- Select the menu button (3 dots) on the right-hand side of the lead you want to delete
- Choose Remove lead, then Confirm to finish
Reading your Daily Digest
Prospector sends an email daily, giving you a high-level breakdown of the day's contacts and any scheduled outreach.
In your Daily Digest email, you'll see:
- Total emails and schedule for your next send day, along with a preview of 3 leads to be prospected
- Total emails sent that day and when, along with a preview of 3 leads contacted
You can select Review all underneath the sent or scheduled sections to be taken to the Prospector dashboard for more information.
If you ever want to take a break from your Daily Digest, you can toggle it off at any time from your Vidyard notification settings.
Frequently asked questions
Can I move the send date for an email if it's already been generated?
Yes, you can choose to move any generated emails to the next day they are scheduled to send. Select the email you want to move from your Emails list, and use the menu (3 dots) button to choose Bump to next scheduled day.
If I'm going out-of-office, can I turn off my scheduled emails temporarily?
Yes, if you need to pause sending automatically generated emails, you can do so from My Profile > Email Preferences. Toggle Vacation Mode ON, and choose a start and end date. After the end date has passed, Prospector will resume sending emails based on your chosen cadence.
Will my Prospector emails be flagged as spam?
No, your Prospector emails should not be flagged as spam. All generated emails have content unique to their leads, and Prospector ensures there is not a high volume of emails sent out at the same time.
