GoVideos are more likely to be clicked on within an email if a splash-screen thumbnail image is present.
In GoVideo Free, you can use the Copy Link option on the sharing page to paste into Gmail. This will generate a splash screen image.
When you have set a Branded Sharing Page for your GoVideo sharing pages, the Copy Link option is only generating a text link and not a thumbnail in Gmail.
When a Branded Sharing Page is configured, you will notice that the URL changes from share.viewedit.com/* to embed.vidyard.com/share/* (or a domain set via CNAME). This changes the way that Gmail interprets the Copy Link option.
There are two solutions to easily have the thumbnail added to the email in Gmail.
- Use the Gmail icon at the bottom of your Gmail Compose panel to add content into your emails when using GoVideo Enterprise. This will also provide an ability to select more than one video and generate a playlist for your recipient.
- From the GoVideo video, use the Gmail share option to open a compose window with the hyperlinked thumbnail.
