A player's thumbnail, title, description, and tags are referred to as the player's metadata. Often times even if the actual content is updated on Vidyard, other social media sites often cache metadata and will not automatically update it.
If there has been an update to the player's metadata within Vidyard settings and it is not updating or showing up as a broken link in social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, or LinkedIn please see the following sections below to resolve the issue for their respective platforms.
The following article is how to update Facebook's cached metadata - How to update cached metadata on Facebook.
Similar to Facebook's debugger tools above, Twitter has a Card Validator tool. Place a link into it and force Twitter to pull in new metadata from the link and update its previously cached data.
To update LinkedIn's cache, simply add a fake query string to the end of the link when pasting the sharing page link of the player.
For example, the original post of the sharing page as
Just add a made-up query string like "?test=1" to the end of that link
This will ensure that LinkedIn sees this as a brand new link that is being shared, and it will be forced to search the link for current data. This will then reflect the recent changes.
