You can add individual thumbnails for each video in your player. These thumbnails will appear in a playlists to represent each video.
- From the Vidyard dashboard, select Content > Videos (all of your uploaded videos are available here).
- Hover over the video that you want to edit, then click Thumbnails
Choose a Video Thumbnail
You can use two types of thumbnails for your video:
- A still image thumbnail
- Chose from a selection of generated images
- Upload an image from your computer
- Select a frame from the video
- An animated gif
- Generate an animate gif from your video
- Upload a gif from your computer
Use a still image thumbnail
You can add an image thumbnail in three ways:
Select a generated thumbnail from the image library
Across the bottom of the screen is a library of pre-generated thumbnails from your video.
To use one of these images as your video thumbnail, hover over the thumbnail you want and click Set as current.
Upload a thumbnail to the image library
You can upload an image from your computer as a new thumbnail option:
- Select Upload Image
- Click Choose an image or Drag & drop your image onto the uploader. This will add the thumbnail to your library of images at the bottom of the screen.
- Click Set as current to select that image as the current thumbnail.
Select a frame from the video as a thumbnail
To select a frame from the video to use as your thumbnail image:
- Click the Select Image option.
- Drag the time slider to select a frame, then click Add to Library. This will add the selected frame to your library of images at the bottom of the screen.
- Click Set as current to select that image as the current thumbnail.
Use an animated gif
Generate an animated gif from your video
- Click on the Select Gif option.
- Drag time slider to select a start and end point for your animated gif. You can select up to 10 seconds.
- Click Add to library.
- If you want to use this gif as your thumbnail, hover over it in the image library, then click Set as current.
Upload an animated gif
You can also upload your own animated gif to use as a video thumbnail.
- Select the Upload image option.
- Click Choose an image or Drag & drop your image onto the uploader. This will place the gif into your image library.
- Click Select as Current on your gif to set it as your video thumbnail.
