When you send a GoVideo recording using Gmail or Outlook, the viewer’s email address is automatically attached to each view by use of the an identification query string at the end of the link to the video. This allows you to track how much of a video your recipient has watched and when.
Information on the view data and content watched can be found in the GoVideo notification tab. If the viewer is identified (known email address), that information, along with the duration that your video was viewed, can be found in the email notifications that are sent to your inbox.
The GoVideo notifications tab will display that viewer's email address as well as the time that your video was viewed.
If you see a notification in the extension's feed showing (either, "1 person", "2 people", or "someone@"), these unidentified views.
Unidentified views may belong to:
- Viewers other than the original recipient to whom your video was shared.
- The recipient received your email with a link that did not properly contain an email query string.
Only views that are identified with a specific email address (e.g. firstname.lastname@example.org) will have an email notification sent with it.
