How to set up Vidyard MCP in Claude
Adding Vidyard’s MCP connector lets Claude access your Vidyard account’s information to answer questions, plan, and prepare.
This article will walk you through how to add the Vidyard MCP connector in Claude, what information the MCP can access from Vidyard, and how to manage your connection.
How to set up the MCP connection in Claude
The setup between Claude and Vidyard takes place entirely in Claude. Use a web browser or download Claude’s desktop app, then sign in to the Claude account you want to connect.
- Open your main menu, then select Settings
- Select Connectors, then Add > Add custom connector

Enter the following in the sections provided, then select Continue
- Name: Vidyard MCP

- Choose the Vidyard account you'd like to connect to Claude, then select Continue to go to the next step
- Use the checkboxes to choose what Claude can see and do, then select Authorize to finish
MCP Tools in Claude
Vidyard’s MCP in Claude can perform different tasks and gather different information from Vidyard depending on your plan and what tool permissions you’ve set. Read tools can gather data, and Write/Delete tools can edit certain items in your Vidyard account.
- Analytics - Get aggregated analytics and breakdowns from your videos and your Vidyard Actions (CTAs).
- Avatars - See a list of your available Avatars, create avatar videos, and check whether existing avatar videos have finished generating.
- Campaigns - Find campaigns, see a list of videos they’ve generated, check their variables, and generate videos with them.
- Videos - Get information on your videos, update them, see when they’re finished processing, or add new recorded or uploaded videos.

How to manage Vidyard MCP in Claude
If you want to manage Vidyard’s MCP on your Claude account, select Vidyard MCP from the list of Connectors. From there, you can manage its permissions or disconnect it from your Claude account.
To manage permissions, select an access level from the dropdown menu for all of your tools (always allow, needs approval, or blocked), or select Custom to change the access level for each tool individually.
To remove the Vidyard MCP from Claude, select Disconnect, then Disconnect again to confirm. Please note that after you’ve disconnected, you can still continue previous chats that reference Vidyard MCP content, but Claude can’t access new content or perform new tasks.
