How to send personalized videos automatically with Zapier
Vidyard’s Video Agent for Zapier allows you to easily build Zaps that can quickly generate and deliver customized videos at scale.
This article will walk you through how to get set up by creating a Campaign, and configuring Zapier's triggers and actions to create custom videos. The steps here are an example of how to set up and use Video Agent, but you can further customize your workflow in Zapier to perfectly fit your needs.

Create a Vidyard campaign for your workflow
To create AI-generated videos for your viewers, follow our steps to create a Vidyard campaign that Zapier can use to generate them. You can enter dynamic variables in your script (eg. {{first name}}, etc.) to personalize videos for each viewer.
If you've already created a campaign, great! You can skip right to the next step.
Create a new Zap and trigger
To start, you’ll want to create a new Zap that can trigger video generation using your app of choice. If you already have a Zap set up and only need to add an action to generate Vidyard videos, you can skip to the next section.
- Sign in to your Zapier account
- Select the main menu icon, then + Create Zaps
- Choose and set up the Trigger event that starts your Zap
- We support many of the apps available through Zapier, like Chili Piper, HubSpot, Google Sheets, Google Calendar, and more. For example, you could use a Chili Piper trigger to automatically generate a video whenever you're booked on a meeting.

Add a Vidyard Action to generate personalized videos
The Vidyard Zap Action will create a new, personalized AI video based on the trigger you set up in the previous section.
- Select + or Action to create a new Action, then select Vidyard
- Choose Generate Campaign Video under the Action event dropdown
- Connect your Vidyard account by choosing Select, then + Connect a new account, and follow the instructions provided
- Select Continue to move to the next step
- Populate the required fields, then select Continue
- Campaign - Select the Vidyard campaign you want to use for the Zap.
- Owner email - Enter the email for the user whose avatar you’d like to appear in the video. You can map this to the record owner email from your CRM trigger, or enter it manually.
- Recipient email - Enter the email of the person who will receive the video. You can map this to the record owner email from your CRM trigger, or enter it manually.
-
Variables - Map each variable from your campaign’s script. You can use information from the trigger you set up previously, or enter information manually.
- Select Test step to make sure your Action is generating videos successfully, then Continue to finish
Add additional steps to complete your Zap
Now that you’ve set an action to generate a video, you can decide how you’d like to use that video and its information in future steps. You can add as many additional actions as you need to finish your Zap workflow.
Below, we'll show you how to create a step using your newly generated video’s title and thumbnail to share a personalized message over Gmail. This is just an example of what you can achieve; feel free to customize your actions to fit your workflow best!
- Select + to add a new step to your Zap
- Choose the Gmail app from the list, then Send Email under Action event > Continue
- Select + under the Subject field, then select the previously created step Generate Campaign Video Video Title
- Change the Body type of the email to Html, then fill out the email body with your preferred text
- This allows us to embed an HTML snippet in the email with a personalized video
- Choose where you’d like the video to appear in your email, then select + Generate Campaign Video > Email Embed HTML Snippet
- Customize the rest of your email step as needed, then Continue > Test step to finish
