Use keyboard shortcuts to save time and make navigating Vidyard easy ⌨️

Below, you'll find instructions on how to use your keyboard to:

  • Navigate and use Vidyard (on the web, browser extension, and desktop app)
  • Record a video with the browser extension

Pause/Resume recording  Shift(⇧) + Command (⌘) + 1

Restart recording  Shift(⇧) + Command (⌘) + 0

Change your browser extension shortcuts

If you prefer to use a different combination of keys, you can change Vidyard's default shortcuts in the extension settings for Chrome or Edge. Watch the video or follow the steps below:

  1. Copy & paste the following link in a new browser tab to open your extension settings
  2. Select the edit (✏️) icon beside the shortcut you want to change
  3. Enter your new shortcut
    • Each command must include one of the following keys:
        • On Mac OS: Command (⌘), Ctrl (⌃) or Option (⌥)
        • On Windows OS: Ctrl or Alt
  4. Set whether your shortcuts can be used In Chrome/Edge or Global
    • In Chrome/Edge - shortcut can only be used when you have the browser open and selected
    • Global (recommended) - shortcut can be used when the browser is not actively open or in focus (for example, when recording over a different application)
