How to set up Video Agent in your Salesloft workflow
Accounts without the Video Agent add-on can create up to 15 AI videos.
Want to reduce the amount of time your team spends on outreach? Use the Video Agent for Salesloft workflow in your Vidyard campaigns to automatically create and send personalized video messages to your contacts when they take specific actions, such as booking a demo or filling out a form.
This article will walk you through how to get set up—connecting the integration in Vidyard, creating a Campaign, and configuring your Salesloft workflows to create custom videos. The steps here are an example of how to set up and use Video Agent, but you can further customize your Salesloft workflow to perfectly fit your needs.
Choose a campaign for your workflow
To create AI-generated videos for your viewers, you need to set up a Vidyard campaign that Video Agent can follow. You can use dynamic variables in your script (e.g., {{first name}}, etc.) to personalize videos for each viewer.
Each user in your account that you'd like to create videos for should be added to this campaign. This allows the contact owner's avatar to be sent to the contact, so that they receive a personalized video from the correct member of your company.
Once you've created a campaign (or selected an existing one), you can grab your Campaign ID from the URL and copy it to your notepad.
Later on, after you've connected your Salesloft workflow to Vidyard, you'll need to select this campaign's Workflow tab and pick the Salesloft platform option from the dropdown menu. The values below will be needed for further setup in Salesloft, so copy them into your notepad.
Get your Cadence ID from Salesloft
Next, you’ll be grabbing your Cadence ID in Salesloft so that it can send Video Agent’s videos on your behalf.
You can either create a new Cadence or select an existing Cadence from your list in Salesloft. Once you’re inside the Cadence, you can copy the Cadence ID from the URL and paste it into your notepad. You can do this with multiple Cadences.
Create a custom field for your Contacts
Vidyard needs two custom fields to store each contact record's video’s unique identifier (UUID) and the campaign ID. This value allows Video Agent to associate a video with a viewer so they receive the correct personalized AI video.
- Log in to your Salesloft account, then select Profile > Settings
- Select Object and field configuration under the Data section
- Select Create Custom Field
You'll create 2 different custom fields, as follows (please note, these are case sensitive and must be entered exactly as shown)
-
Salesloft Field Name - Vidyard Video UUID
- Salesloft Field Type - Text
-
Salesloft Field Name - Vidyard Campaign ID
- Salesloft Field Type - Text
Add Contacts to your Cadence
The next step is to choose which contacts you’d like to add to your Cadence, following Salesloft’s instructions here.
When you add a contact, it populates the Vidyard UUID field we just added to ensure the right personalized video is sent to each person. Please note that the field may take a few minutes to populate in Salesloft.
Connect your Salesloft workflow in Vidyard
The next step to setting up your Salesloft workflow is to connect your Salesloft account to Vidyard.
- Sign in to your Vidyard account
- Navigate to Admin > Integrations, then select Add next to the Video Agent for Salesloft integration
- Confirm that this is the Vidyard account you'd like to connect with the integration by selecting Create, then Next
- This gives Vidyard the authentication it needs to set up the Video Agent for Salesloft integration

- Enter the Salesloft Cadences you want to use and the Vidyard campaigns you'd like to connect to them, then select Next

- Copy the link in Configure your AI workflow into the field below it (webhook_url), then select Finish
Create an email template for your Cadence
To send personalized videos, you need to add the HTML from your Campaign Workflow tab into an email template. This code adds the linked video thumbnail to the body of your email. Once you've finished this template, add it to the cadence you created above.
- Sign in to your Salesloft account
- Select Content > Templates from the main menu, then Create Template
- Fill out your template with a title, subject, and email body
- Select Source Code from the email menu, enter the HTML from your Vidyard Campaign Workflow tab wherever you'd like the video to appear in your email, then Save when finished
Update or delete the Salesloft Video Agent integration
If you need to connect your Vidyard Video Agent to a different Salesloft account or remove an integration altogether, you can do so from Admin > Integrations. Select the menu (3 dots) beside any Video Agent integration to update or delete it.
