Tips & tricks for great AI video scripts
When creating scripts for your AI videos, there are a few tips you should keep in mind. We've compiled them below, broken down by topic.
If you're creating a script for one of your campaigns, check your Audio Preview after entering your script to make sure it sounds exactly the way you want. Not sounding quite the way you do? Try customizing your avatar's voice.
Script structure
- Try to keep short scripts to one paragraph, wherever possible. Entering too many line breaks can affect your AI Avatar's speech, such as causing more filler words (eg. "umm, uhh"), and/or odd behaviour.
- For longer scripts, break them into paragraphs based on topic as you would in a natural conversation. This helps make sure the avatar's pauses are consistent with your writing.
Pronunciation
- To help your avatar pronounce words correctly, use phonetic spelling (eg. "Soo-ZAN-uh" for "Suzanna").
- Avoid any abbreviations in your script, unless you specifically want them read in their abbreviated form (eg. Dr. vs Doctor)
Expression
- Try adding pauses by using standard (-) or em dashes (—), or by using ellipses (...). Add multiple dashes for a longer pause. Dashes are better for natural, conversational pauses during speech, while ellipses are used for thoughtfulness or hesitance.
- Punctuation matters in your script. Not only does it help keep a natural, conversational rhythm, but it also helps to convey emotion. For example, exclamation points can add urgency, and question marks can raise the avatar's voice at the end of a sentence.
- To stress specific words, write them in all capital letters.
