Share your videos to X (Twitter)
In a few quick steps, you can share videos with your followers on X directly from Vidyard.
From your library, simply select X as the channel where you want to share your video. The video will then be added to the body of your post.
Viewers can either click on the link to watch the video on your sharing page, or watch the video directly within their timeline (on x.com, mobile.x.com or the X desktop app).
Sharing a video to X
- Click on the Share button next to a video in your library, then select Embed
- Select the icon
- A separate browser window will open with options from X to format and share a post
- If you are not already authenticated, X may prompt you to sign in to an account
- Format your message as desired (write your own message, start a thread with additional messages, etc).
- When finished, select Post to post your video
Watching videos shared to X
How your video appears on X depends on your viewers' device and the application they are using (X, mobile.x.com, the X desktop or mobile app).
x.com, mobile.x.com or the X desktop app
When you open X with a web browser (on both desktop and mobile) or use the X desktop app, a preview of the video will appear inside of the post on your followers' timelines.
The preview will include the video thumbnail, title and description.
When the viewer clicks on the play button, the video will expand and play back directly within the timeline.
X mobile apps (Android and iOS)
When using X on a mobile app, only the link to the video sharing page will appear in your followers' timelines.
If you select the post to open the detailed view, you will see a preview of the video that includes the thumbnail, title and description.
When the viewer clicks the play button, a mobile browser tab will open that contains only the video. Alternatively, selecting View on [your domain name] will open the video on your dedicated sharing page.
Supported settings on videos shared to X
Many of the settings that you apply to your videos in Vidyard (your thumbnail, colors, captions, etc.) will also appear when the video is shared to X However, there are some exceptions based on the way X incorporates the video into their platform.
