On Business plans, users must have the Push videos to a connected Linkedin account permission enabled.

You can share videos to your personal and business audiences on LinkedIn directly from the Vidyard library.

Simply select a video from your library, then choose 1 of the 2 available sharing options:

  1. Share a video as a link on your personal feed or in a direct message to first-degree connections
  2. Post a video to your Company Page
    • Sharing to a Company Page requires you to connect your LinkedIn account to Vidyard
    • Videos shared with this option play natively inline on your Company Page.

Share a video to your personal feed or in a direct message

Sharing a video to your personal feed or in a direct message provides your audience with a link to the video's sharing page.

A sharing page is a dedicated, brand-able page where your viewers can watch a video without distraction.

When you share to your feed or in a direct message, LinkedIn creates a post or message that includes the title of your video, an image of the video thumbnail with a play button, and a link to the sharing page in the body.

  1. Select Share video as a link
    • A separate browser window will open with options from LinkedIn to format your post or message

  2. Select a share option to continue:
    • Share in a post to include a link to your video in a post on your personal feed
    • Click on Send as private message to include a link to your video in a direct message to a first-degree connection.Choosing an option to share a link to your video in a post to your feed or in a private message

Share a video to your Company Page

In order to share to a Company Page, you will be asked to Connect your LinkedIn account to Vidyard.

Once you've established a connection, you can share videos to any Company Pages that you manage (you must be a Super Admin for a page).

Videos shared on a company page play inline natively. This means that your viewers can watch your videos from directly within LinkedIn, rather than being sent to a separate page.

  1. Select Share video in company page
    • If using this option for the first time, you will be prompted to Connect your LinkedIn account to Vidyard before you continue.Choosing the option to share a video as a post on your company page
  2. Use the dropdown menu to select a company page you manage
    • Optionally, add a description (this appears in the body of your post)
  3. Select ShareUsing the dropdown menu to select the page you want to share to before confirming.

What analytics do I receive from videos shared to LinkedIn?

The video insights you receive in Vidyard depend on how your videos are shared to LinkedIn.

  • When you share to your personal feed or in a direct message, your audience receives a link to a dedicated video sharing page. Vidyard is able to collect the full range of video analytics on the sharing page as well as interact with any tracking scripts from integrated marketing automation tools (if applicable). You also have the opportunity to brand and further customize the experience on this page.

  • When you share to a Company Page, Vidyard's integration with LinkedIn permits your video to play inline without directing the viewer to a separate page. If you value inline playback on your Company Page, this is a great option; however, we do not currently have the ability to pull analytics from these videos back into Vidyard as they use LinkedIn's native player.

You always have the option to copy and share a link to your video directly on a Company Page instead.
