How to segment Pardot prospects into a list using video data from Vidyard
Once you've set up the Vidyard for Pardot integration, you can then start to incorporate viewer engagement with video into your marketing processes, automations and segmentation lists.
In this article, we'll demonstrate specifically how to use video view data from Vidyard to add prospects to a list. However, keep in mind that you can use the same data sets for things like segmentation rules and automations.
What data can I access from Vidyard in Pardot?
Depending on which Vidyard integrations you have set up (Pardot and/or Salesforce), you can potentially access up to 2 different data sets in your automations, rules and lists.

Add prospects to a dynamic list using video view data
Create a new dynamic list
- Open the Pardot Lightning App in Salesforce
- Select Automations > Segmentation Lists > + Add List
- to change an existing list: select Settings (the gear icon) next to a list, then Edit
- Give you list a Name and Folder location
- Select the Dynamic List checkbox, then click on Set Rules to finish
Add rules that use video view data
In your dynamic list, you can now add rules that utilize video view data from your prospect records. Here are 2 examples of how to add prospects to a list with video data from Vidyard's custom fields or the custom object from Salesforce.
In this example, we use the Vidyard Video Views field to add any prospects to the list that have watched more than 2 videos.
- Select + Add new rule
- Choose Match all or Match any
- From the dropdown menu select Prospect custom fields
- Then choose Vidyard video views > is greater than > 2
In this example, we use Vidyard's custom object on a Lead record in Salesforce. Prospects with a corresponding Lead record that have watched greater than 80% of a video are added to the list.
- Select + Add new rule
- From the dropdown menus select Prospect custom object > related with properties > Video View, then choose the record type for the custom object
- vidyard__Lead__r = custom object on lead records
- vidyard__Contact__r = custom object on contact records
- Choose Match all or Match any
- Then select Video Amount Watched > is greater than > 80
You can also add an additional rule to specify a particular video. For example: select again + Add new rule, then choose Video Name > is > [name of video]
