Once you've set up the Vidyard for Pardot integration, you can then start to incorporate viewer engagement with video into your marketing processes, automations and segmentation lists.

In this article, we'll demonstrate specifically how to use video view data from Vidyard to add prospects to a list. However, keep in mind that you can use the same data sets for things like segmentation rules and automations.

What data can I access from Vidyard in Pardot?

Depending on which Vidyard integrations you have set up (Pardot and/or Salesforce), you can potentially access up to 2 different data sets in your automations, rules and lists.

Data type Details
Prospect custom fields

What: Data that Vidyard writes to prospect records in Pardot

Source: from Vidyard for Pardot integration

Prospect custom objects

What: Data that Vidyard writes to lead and contact records in Salesforce

Source: from Vidyard for Salesforce integration. To access, you must sync the custom object with your prospect records in Pardot

Add prospects to a dynamic list using video view data

Create a new dynamic list

  1. Open the Pardot Lightning App in SalesforceSelecting the New List button in the Pardot Lighting App to create a new segmentation list
  2. Select Automations > Segmentation Lists > + Add List
    • to change an existing list: select Settings (the gear icon) next to a list, then Edit
  3. Give you list a Name and Folder location
  4. Select the Dynamic List checkbox, then click on Set Rules to finish

Add rules that use video view data

In your dynamic list, you can now add rules that utilize video view data from your prospect records. Here are 2 examples of how to add prospects to a list with video data from Vidyard's custom fields or the custom object from Salesforce.

In this example, we use Vidyard's custom object on a Lead record in Salesforce. Prospects with a corresponding Lead record that have watched greater than 80% of a video are added to the list.

  1. Select + Add new rule
  2. From the dropdown menus select Prospect custom object related with propertiesVideo View, then choose the record type for the custom object
    • vidyard__Lead__r = custom object on lead records
    • vidyard__Contact__r = custom object on contact records
  3. Choose Match all or Match any
  4. Then select Video Amount Watchedis greater than > 80

You can also add an additional rule to specify a particular video. For example: select again + Add new rule, then choose Video Nameis > [name of video]
