Vidyard’s integration with Pipedrive allows you to get deeper insights into your prospect’s engagement with video and get the full picture of their activities directly in Pipedrive.

With real-time video notifications in your Pipedrive activity records, you and your team can perfectly time your follow-ups, create automations based on video engagement, and prioritize next steps with the right people and opportunities.

Set up requirements

  • Your user in Pipedrive must be a Global Admin
  • Your user must have access to the top-level parent folder in Vidyard
  • Your user must belong to a team in Vidyard with permission to Edit Integrations

Create a custom activity for Vidyard

In order for Vidyard to write video view activities to your contact records, you first need to create a new custom activity type in Pipedrive. You must create a custom activity before you connect Vidyard to Pipedrive.

  1. In Pipedrive go to Settings > Company Settings > Activities
  2. Select Add activity type
  3. Enter “Vidyard Video View” as your activity name and choose an icon (we recommend the play button)
  4. Select Save to finish

Connect Vidyard to Pipedrive

The Pipedrive integration is an account-wide feature in Vidyard. It applies to all users and videos in your Vidyard workspace. To set up the integration, make sure to navigate to the top-level parent folder.

  1. Sign in to your Vidyard account
  2. Select Admin > Integrations from the main menu
    • Use Change Folder to navigate to the top-level parent folder, if needed
  3. Select + Add next to Pipedrive
  4. Follow the prompts to create a new authentication for Pipedrive
    • Vidyard connects to your Pipedrive account through our partner Tray, an authentication service provider. Learn more about what access Vidyard has to Pipedrive.

Getting Video View activities in Pipedrive

When a contact watches a video and becomes an identified viewer, Vidyard writes a custom Video View activity to the corresponding contact record in Pipedrive.

Video View activities are automatically “marked as done”, and contain the following details in the activity’s notes:

  • The name of the contact
  • The percent of the video watched
  • The name of the video (hyperlinked to the video in your Vidyard library)

Trigger automations with Vidyard activities

When you receive a video view from a contact, you can use their activity as a trigger to create automations in Pipedrive and speed up your everyday processes.

  1. Select Automations from the main menu
  2. Click on + Automation > Add Trigger

In the following example, we use Activity Created as the automation trigger, plus “Activity Type is Vidyard Video View” as the instant condition.

You can then take any action based on a contact having watched a video, like automatically sending a follow-up email.

Delete the integration

If for whatever reason you need to delete the Pipedrive integration, you can remove the connection from the integrations page in Vidyard.

Deleting the integration does not remove any existing data from Pipedrive.

  1. Select Admin > Integrations from the main menu in Vidyard
    • If you’re not already in parent folder, use Change Folder to switch folders
  2. Select Manage next to Pipedrive, then click on the delete icon (trash can)
  3. Select Save, then select Delete again to confirm

Frequently asked questions

What access does Vidyard have to my Pipedrive account?

Vidyard uses Tray as an intermediary service provider to create the connection between Vidyard and Pipedrive. Vidyard requests access to your Pipedrive account through Tray, and requires the following scopes/permissions:

  • Activities: Full access — Vidyard uses the POST /activities endpoint within this scope to post a new “Vidyard Video View” activity to a person’s activity timeline

  • Search for all data — Vidyard uses the GET /persons/search endpoint within this scope to look up the contact record of the person who’s email address matches the viewer of the video

Pipedrive has no access to read data from your Vidyard account.

Can I connect Vidyard to more than 1 Pipedrive accounts?

You can only connect 1 Vidyard account to 1 Pipedrive account.
