Identifying your viewers in Gong
When you share videos in a Gong email, a tracking token is added to the sharing link so that you can identify your viewer and get notified when they watch your video.
Make sure that when you’re emailing a contact, they're added to the To field before inserting videos so that the token can be created. If you add more recipients after inserting a video, they cannot be identified.
The type of information you receive about a viewer differs depending on how you’re sending videos:
- If you send to one individual contact, you’ll see their specific email associated with any video views (eg. caroline@example.com).
- If you add more than one contact from the same email domain (eg. @example.com), all video views will appear as “someone@example.com”.
- If you add more than one contact from multiple email domains, your recipients cannot be identified and all video views will appear as "Someone"
Get notified when someone watches a video
When any recipient watches your video, you’ll get notified in up to 3 different locations:
- Your notifications feed in the Vidyard browser extension, desktop app and your account on vidyard.com (dependent on your notification preferences)
- An email from Vidyard in your inbox (dependent on your notification preferences)
- Your deal activity timeline in Gong (requires the Vidyard for Gong integration)
