Link Video Views with Salesforce Opportunities
After you've integrated your Vidyard account with Salesforce, you can use Vidyard video view data to create insightful Salesforce reports. Here is one way to leverage this valuable view data by linking it to opportunities!
Part 1: Create a new report type
- Create a new custom report type with the following properties:
- Primary Object: Opportunities
- Report type label: Opportunities with Contacts with Video Views
- Report type name: Use the auto-generated one
- Report type category: Ours are in “Other Reports”
- Configure the object relationships as follows:
Part 2: Create the reports
There are two reports to be created based off the new report type we made.
First Report
Name: Video Views Influencing All Deals
Show: All opportunities
Date field: Closed Date
Range: All Time
Summary Format
Columns:
- Opportunity Name
- Account Name: Account Name
- Amount
- Full Name
- Views
- Video Amount Watched
- Date
Groupings:
- Video Name
Add Chart:
- Donut graph
- Values: Record Count
- Wedges: Video Name
Here's an example of what the report will look like:
Second Report
Name: Contacts in Opp'ty with Video Views
Show: All opportunities
Date field: Closed Date
Range: All Time
Summary Format
Columns:
- Account Name: Account Name
- Video Name
- Views
Groupings:
- Opportunity Name
- Full Name
Add Chart:
- Donut graph
- Values: Record Count
- Wedges: Full Name
Here's an example of what the report will look like:
Part 3: Add to Opportunity page layout
Edit the page layout for your opportunities and drag in the report charts from the reports we just made.
When viewing these reports on a specific opportunity, they will be automatically filtered for that particular opportunity.
