How to personalize your videos with dynamic titles

Using dynamic variables in your video titles ensures your videos stay personalized to their recipients even when sharing to multiple people at once. 

You can select from multiple email distribution platforms when copying your video sharing link, and we use the information from that platform (first name, company, etc.) to customize your title for each viewer.

How to add dynamic variables to your video title

Dynamic variables are used to insert different values into your video title, depending on the video’s recipient. When you select a distribution platform (eg. HubSpot, Salesloft, etc) while copying the video’s sharing link, we use that 

For example, if you share a video with a title containing the {First Name} variable, and are sharing through HubSpot, the first name you have listed for someone in HubSpot is inserted into the title dynamically when they open the video.

1. Login to your Vidyard account
2. Select a video from your library
3. Enter your video title, using the {} button to select and add dynamic variables
   • You can also add a fallback for any variable you use in your video title. This fallback will be used if the information for that variable is unavailable.

Once you’ve added variables to your video title, you’re ready to share your video with all of your contacts!

Fallbacks for dynamic variables

When you select a variable for your video title in Vidyard, you can also set a “fallback” for that variable. The fallback you enter will be used if the information for that variable is unavailable in the distribution platform (HubSpot, Salesloft, etc.) you select when sharing your video. 

For example, say you have the variable {{Company}} in your title, with a fallback of "your company", like so: 

We dynamically insert the company name from the profile on your distribution platform. If the company name is available, the title would look like this: 

• We think Vidyard will be incredibly helpful to the Tyrell corporation!

With a fallback of your company, if someone without a company name attached to their profile in your distribution platform opens the video, the title would look like this: 

• We think Vidyard will be incredibly helpful to your company!
