Using the Vidyard for WordPress oEmbed plugin

The Vidyard plugin for WordPress makes it easier than ever for you to embed Vidyard players into your self-hosted WordPress posts and pages.

By adding the plugin to your WordPress instance, the following URLs are able to convert into videos in your WordPress editor:

http(s)://share.vidyard.com/watch*
http(s)://embed.vidyard.com/share/*
http(s)://play.vidyard.com/*
http(s)://**.hubs.vidyard.com/watch/*

* = UUID of the player

Requirements

  • You must have a self-hosted WordPress instance (rather than the cloud-based solution through WordPress.com)

Install the Vidyard plugin

  1. Download the Vidyard WordPress plugin file
  2. In the file structure of your File Transfer Protocol (FTP), navigate to wordpress/wp-content/plugins
  3. Paste the php file into the plugins directory.
  4. Now, log into WordPress. Open the plugins menu and click activate next to the Vidyard WordPress Plugin item.Vidyard WordPress line item with activate button
    You are now ready to embed your videos in WordPress!

Embed a Vidyard Player in WordPress

  1. Create a new post in WordPress
  2. Click Add Blockmceclip2.png
  3. Select Embedmceclip1.png
  4. Paste the URL for your video into the available field.

Note: The Vidyard WordPress plugin only supports the embedding of inline videos.
