With settings like Blur and Low Light, you can change the background of your camera while recording to obscure your surroundings or adjust to poor lighting.
Both Blur and Low Light are only available when you record videos from your library in a web browser.
This recording option is used as a fallback when you do not have the Vidyard browser extension installed for Chrome or Edge, or you use a different web browser like Firefox.
Requirements
To use Blur or Low Light while recording with your camera, you must:
- sign in to your Vidyard account in a browser window
- disable the Vidyard browser extension on Chrome or Edge, if you have it installed
Blur your background
- From your video library, select New >
- Select Camera as the recording type
- Select the checkbox next to Blur Background
- Change the intensity to Low or High from the dropdown menu
Adjust to low light
- From your video library, select New > Record Video from the dropdown menu (right-hand corner)
- Select Camera as the recording type
- Select the checkbox to enable Adjust to low light
- Use the slider to adjust the brightness of your camera in dimly lit settings
Recording without the browser extension
The option to record videos directly from your library is used only when you do not have the browser extension installed for Chrome or Edge, or you use a different web browser like Firefox.
Without the extension, the types of videos that you can record differ based on the web browser that you’re using.
For example, you can record a specific browser tab with Chrome and Edge, but not with Firefox. Plus, without the browser extension, you cannot record a Screen + Cam video.
