Once you’re familiar with how to create a video, you can use Vidyard to record your Google Slides or PowerPoint presentations!
- Use the Browser Extension to record your presentation in Google Slides
- Use the Desktop Application to record your presentation in PowerPoint
Recording your Google Slides presentation
- Open Google Slides, then select Presenter View from the dropdown menu.
-
Minimize the Presenter View pop-up box that appears on the screen.
- Click on the Vidyard browser extension icon in your toolbar, and select your recording type:
- Select Screen & Cam if you would like to record with the camera bubble present.
- Select Screen if you would like to record only the presentation.
- Click Start Recording.
- Select the Browser Tab option when it prompts you to choose your screen, click the Google Slides tab with your presentation title, then click Share.
- Click on the Vidyard browser extension icon again (or the stop button in your recording controls) when you are satisfied with your recording, to complete the video.
Recording your PowerPoint presentation
We suggest the Desktop App for recording anything outside of a browser (like PowerPoint). The Desktop App allows you to include your camera bubble while recording with any application.
- Open your presentation in PowerPoint.
- Open the Vidyard Desktop App, and select your preferred recording method:
- Select Screen & Cam if you would like to record with the camera bubble.
- Select Screen if you would like to record only the presentation.
- Click Start Recording
- Select the screen or window with your PowerPoint, then click Share. Start your presentation in PowerPoint once the recording begins.
- Exit your presentation when you are finished, and select the Stop button on the recording controls.
From here, you may want to Trim your recording to remove the setup and teardown portion of your video. Select Edit in Vidyard on the Desktop App preview window to open the settings for the video, then select Trim.
