Sometimes you may need to temporarily disable an extension in your Chrome or Edge browser settings.

Disabling can be useful if you want to stop an extension from running, but do not want to uninstall or remove it from the browser entirely – for example, to troubleshoot problems that an extension may be causing on a webpage.

When you disable the Vidyard browser extension, you will no longer be able to record videos directly from your browser. If you also record and share videos in Gmail, Vidyard will no longer be available from your inbox as it requires the extension to use.

Disable the extension

  1. Open the Extensions menu in the top right corner of your Chrome browser
  2. Select Manage ExtensionsOpening the Extension menu in Chrome to manage your installed extensions
  3. Find Vidyard and use the toggle to disable the extensionTurning off the toggle next to the Vidyard in your Chrome settings to disable the extension

Re-enable the extension

When you’re ready to enable the Vidyard extension again:

  1. Return to your extension settings in Chrome or Edge.
  2. Find Vidyard in your list, then use the toggle to Enable the extensionTurning on the toggle next to Vidyard in your Chrome settings to enable the extension
